WASH United Africa
Sub-Saharan Africa is one of the world regions with the biggest challenges in water, sanitation and hygiene. Across the continent, 327 million people lack access to safe drinking water, while 565 million must do without a safe and hygienic toilet. WASH United Africa strives to help end this crisis by becoming THE innovation leader for the WASH sector in Africa. Working with WASH United’s proven approach of using the power of fun, interactive games, positive communication and superstar ambassadors, we currently work in 6 countries across the continent to change people’s attitudes around sanitation and hygiene and to facilitate life-saving behaviour change. Working with partners we have already trained more than 100,000 children in life-saving WASH behaviour and reached 50 million through campaigns and media work over the last year alone. WASH United is all about collaboration. Over the next years, we will set up a revo-loo-tionary partnerships model to share our cutting edge tools for WASH advocacy and behaviour change interventions with partners across the continent. WASH United's work in Africa is led by our regional office in Nairobi, Kenya.
